Nashville Hootenanny

A few weeks ago I played some songs at Westwood Studios here in Nashville. Here is a video they made of that performance. As I was leaving some girls held their hands out for high fives but I didn’t see them because the lights were in my eyes. If you are one of those girls, I’m sorry. Also in the second video (which was shot by my brother Justin) you can hear my ukulele’s electronics giving out. The second song is called “Come sit by me”, although my brother didn’t know that because it generally takes me several years to name a song.

Sunday, October 21st marked the beginning of a series of shows presented by Makeout Music Co. Travis McClain, Quote, and Aron Wright played an unforgettable show to a packed room at Portland Brew. This was Travis and his wife Lindsay’s first show in Nashville and their first show as a duo, although upon hearing them, you would think they had been performing together for years. They opened the night beautifully with tight harmonies, well-written songs, and gorgeous melodies. Quote, which consists of Justin Tam and Jamie Bennett, followed the McClains with their brand of (what I like to call) Great American Drinking Music or GADM for short. I love the music these guys make, it’s the type of music that at first listen is simply fun to listen to, and later the depth of the lyrics takes you by surprise. Their harmonies are well-arranged and it’s a joy to watch them sing together-you would think they were brothers if it weren’t for the fact that they don’t look anything alike. Aron Wright played next (which is me), he was so awesome. The whole thing was recorded and will hopefully be posted here soon, so keep a lookout. For now here is a video of me. More videos of me can be found here.
